Dryer Lent.

Happy Mardi Gras y'all! :)

Hope everyone enjoys their indulgent holiday and eats and "celebrates" as much as possible! I however will be spending Mardi Gras bead-free and king cake-less. :(

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and begins the religious observation of Lent. Growing up Baptist, my church and family never really observed Lent as the Catholics and other denominations did. But, I always thought it was a good action to give up something that you see as a vice in your life and replace it with time spent getting to know and strengthening your relationship with Christ.

This year, I have been trying to think of what to give up and up until recently (this past weekend) I have come up empty handed. But then it clicked; I am going to give up laziness and work out every day. This is also helpful because Katie's (my best friend!) wedding in two months away, and I want to look my best! :)

So think about what is negative and impacting your life in a negative way and give it up for Lent. Even if you aren't a "religious" person, everyone can still improve themselves and by effect, those around them. You get back from the world, what you put in it.

Supportive vs. Competitive

Just a short little blurb. Something I have realized after my TPS General Audition Screening is that we have to be supportive of each other and stop thinking of auditions as a "competition." We aren't competing with anyone but ourselves. Once you get past this competitive nature at auditions and realize that you can only focus on yourself and being the best you can be, you have grown into a mature artist.

I am a firm believer that supportive artists go "further" than competitive ones. Now, that does not mean you do not put yourself first and think of your own success and "want" in your career. It means that when others succeed and are seemingly "more successful" than you are, you SUPPORT them.

It's karma y'all. It'll come back to you. Get real and be there.

Live and love,

In December 2011, I moved to Seattle to pursue my acting career! And after getting engaged to the man of my dreams, I moved back to Sweet Home Alabama in September 2014.
