On The Brink

This is my last "lazy" week of summer. Starting next week I will be working at South City Theatre's ACTing Up Workshop. After two weeks of that I will be headed to TLC! I cannot wait. This summer is going to be an amazing one and one that I can't wait for all of the memories and friends I am going to make this summer. :)

Then it is only a few months before the great big adventure as the next chapter of my life, SEATTLE! I have been searching and scouring for apartments and I have a few options. As for options for employment, I have starting inquiring at dance studios and looking into internships with many of the local theatres. This start is going to be a huge jump and I could not be more excited about what is about to begin in my life!

Who says boys can't wear make-up?

Today, I needed to apply and post pictures from my make-up designs from Aladdin last summer at Timber Lake. I asked my kid brother, Trey (11), if he would be willing to help out. He said sure!

After four designs (Carpet, Genie, Abu, Raja) he was a little trooper and I think he had a really great time getting dolled up like various characters. He was so good he said that he would sit for me when I wanted to get started on my designs for The Wiz and Annie next week! I love him! :)

Hopefully he follows in my footsteps and goes into theatre and loves it just as much as I have. He would do so well I think.

Today he said the sweetest thing. He said, "Reagan, do you think you will be famous one day?" I replied modestly and honestly saying, "Well, Trey, I don't really know." He replied quickly, "I think you will. Because you are really good." :)

Nothing like that boost of confidence. :) Thank you Trey.

Saturday, I went out to Pleasant Grove where my grandparents, Mumu and Papaw have lived for the past 30 years. Where they lived until the evening of April 27th, 2011.

When the tornado ripped through Tuscaloosa, Pleasant Grove and Cullman, AL it took down my grandparents house as well. When I went out to help out, I was expecting the worst and that is exactly what I found. Their house is no longer there and the only foundation that is recognizable is the square that used to be the front porch area to knock and ring the door bell. All I could do for the first moments I was there was to take it all in, and shed tears of thankfulness that I was able to turn around and see my grandparents standing in the road with me.

I have posted some pictures to facebook that I took while there of their "house" and it is devastating and unrecognizable. There are piles and piles of wood, dry wall, and brick. Luckily we were and are continuing to find valuables such as jewelry, and photos that hold in them precious memories.

More than anything, I am thankful that underneath all of the brick and cinderblock my grandparents came out barely touched. Sure they were banged up a bit, but nothing was broken and they were alive. Miracles really do happen and my grandparents' lives are one of those miracles.

God is good and will continue to do great things. Trust in him.

    Actor. Dancer. Leader.

I graduated Cum Laude from The University of Alabama with a B.A. in Theatre and a Minor in Psychology in May 2011. Originally from Hoover, AL, I have known I was destined for greatness since I was four years old. I am not a picky eater and I love a good talk. In December 2011, I moved to Seattle to pursue my acting career! And after getting engaged to the man of my dreams, I moved back to Sweet Home Alabama in September 2014.
