Shakespeare, Shakespeare, 14 Lines of Shakespeare!

So I had written this whole long post about various things, and then hit publish, and this was the ONE time I didnt copy it before I published it (because it had been working) and it deleted my entire post....

I am not a happy camper! But it is APO Initiation week, which means lots of candy! I love this week and it is so much fun for both the pledges and the members. It is full of family bonding and is a great time for everyone. This sounds so corny, but its true! :)

I am so ready to be graduated, but I still dont believe that its real that I will be done with college in less than 6 weeks! AHHHH! I did some much needed spring cleaning last night, but it wasnt even a dent into what I need to do in preparation for the move in May. I have to cut back on everything from clothes to clutter. But I can do it!

I am a little sad though, Will is leaving for NY earlier than he thought. But its good because he got the internship with Cirque in Las Vegas! :) So he will do that before Forestburgh starts up! Yay Will! :)

Home Sweet Home. (Studio Sweet Studio?)

Today, I finally found the place that I want to live when I move to Seattle. It is a cute little place, a small studio in Downtown Seattle. I love it, because I will be a 10 minute walk from Seattle Repertory Theatre which is AMAZiNG! :) I can't wait to move there, but the money raising will be worth it in the end, because as we all know, you can't live without money!

This was the highlight of my day, and tomorrow is a full day of work and then "Tangled" with Trey after a nice dinner with Madison and Mom! Home is awaiting.

There's No Place Like Home.

A little fact about me, I have never experienced "home sickness" for real. I mean there have been times when I miss certain people or the comfort of having everything paid for, but never being and staying at home. But I am so excited to be going home on Friday to stay with my parents, work on the weekend, and then eat mexican food with my mom and sister (and I suppose my dad and brother if they want).

It will be a good break from Tuscaloosa, not that I have been here very long after spring break, but I can just feel myself getting restless in anticipation of graduation.

Its funny, I will graduate college before Madison (my sister) even graduates High School. She graduates May 25th and I graduate May 7th. I win. :)

The heat does not need to be on in this class.

Days Go By...

With only 6 weeks left of class and then 2 days of finals left for my undergrad career, I am on a fast track to graduation! Senioritis is pumping through my veins, but I have to (and will) keep myself on track to that honors diploma on May 7th! Things don't seem to be piling up too high, but if i start procrastinating then the avalanche of work will begin.

I think yesterday I started a countdown of class days (not including finals) it was something like 29. May 7th cannot come soon enough. And the weather should stay the way it is, don't get hotter or humid...you are perfect this way! :)

This is...Broadway...

Here I am posting from my last night in New York City. This has been a great spring break and a great experience. I truly love this city, but it has become clearer and clearer that this is not the place for me right out of college. Not that I don't think I could live here, but I don't think I would be happy with my career (or lack thereof...) starting out with the opportunities I would have. Everywhere is going to be tough, but I think that NYC would be too tough and it isn't the right fit for me.

While I was here, Will and I explored a lot, walked a lot, and had a lot of fun. We explored Brooklyn, Coney Island, took the Staten Island Ferry, saw La Cage, and the SpiderMusical. I am super proud to say that Will was able to get his first Off-Broadway credit as a Technical Director for the SpiderMusical. It was so hilarious and a laugh out loud great time. I was also able to (finally) Will's costume designer friend DW. He is AMAZING! :)

Can't wait to be back here in August in between Timber Lake and Hampton Day. Then after that it is November for DW's huge birthday bash!

Dryer Lent

3/10/2011

So its that time of year again when Fat Tuesday is over and the Lent begins. No, not the lint you find in the dryer or your belly button, but the religious observance of Lent, the forty days and nights before Easter.

I am not Catholic and nor am I "supposed" to do anything for Lent according to my religion, but I always seem to want to observe it as a personal battle and cleansing period.

This year I have decided to give up fried foods, sodas, and beer. This is a great deal to give up, but with my diet and health plan going strong, I feel this is doable and I will succeed.

Kudos to all those out there observing Lent and struggling on a day-to-day basis to keep straight to their commitment.

Blackout. Sore Throat.

3/7/2011

This is the worst time for a sore throat. Well, not the absolute worst time, because as of right now I dont have anything to worry about until next week at showcase, but I have to be totally better by then. This weather needs to get its stuff together and stop being so bipolar. I blame it completely for my slight sore throat.

So, I am sitting in blackout rehearsal and it is great to be delving into this new script and listening to it come together in table and text work. This is going to be great when we are able to get it up on its feet and working.

Until then...

"I hope I get it...How many people do they need?"

SETC is over and I could not be more excited about what I was blessed with this week! Many great workshops and not to mention a second interview with California Theatre Center for their stage manager position as well as EIGHT grad school callbacks! :) I was beyond myself and cant wait to really delve into researching these great programs.

Right now my body is in total lockdown and I am about to pass out from exhaustion, but the good kind! I feel like I met some really great people, and learned a lot in a short amount of time.

This really is what I was meant to do and where I feel my best. :)

SETC

There is so much to do and so many opportunities here. I wish I had taken advantage of this place sooner. Not being passed on has been actually really great and I have met many amazing people through workshops, job contact, and the education expo. I have renewed my passion and fire to learn and to always be learning, from everyone I meet. I know that I can do whatever I put my mind to, except maybe a couple humanly impossible things, like flying...

I have also made myself realize that I have many more opportunities in theatre than just acting. While yes, that is what I want to do and that is my main focus, I know that I get pleasure and self respect even when I am doing other things I love like choreography, makeup design, and stage management. The theatre is a blessing and I will take any chance to be a part of as many theatres and meet different and interesting people.

I will go far. Watch me. :)

So much to do!

So this is the last "prep" day before SETC and I feel like I still have so much to do. Maybe I feel that way because I really dont know what to expect because this is my first time going to SETC! I am sure I will find the time to get everything done today (hope so?).

In other news, the pledge/member event last night at Mellow Mushroom was AMAZING. We all had so much fun and it was great to just hang out and chill with the people I love. And not to mention the pizza was amazing and FREE. :)

Well, I guess I should go to class and work....sigh...
